GMIT Heritage Studies

Student of the Year Award: Galway Civic Trust is proud to sponsor the annaul B.A (Honours) Heritage Studies Student of the Year Award at Galway Mayo Institute of Technology. This award is a scaled replica of the beautiful perpetual sculpture ‘Tribes’ which is held in GMIT. This piece entitled was commisioned by the Trust from sculptor Ronan Halpin.

Dissertation Sponsorship

The Trust continues to sponsor the dissertation research a GMIT Heritage Studies student each academic year. The Trust also provides these students with practical support and advice in relation to their chosen topic. These bodies of work have formed the basis of other Trust projects and have given students the opportunity of having a practical application applied to their research.
