Waterways
The Civic Trust continues its work of beautifying Galway's waterways by means of a series of clean-up
initiatives and planting schemes. Our efforts are already clearly visible along large stretches of the
canals, and the maintenance of our waterways is an ongoing project for the Trust. In the spirit of
recycling we have a policy of cleaning up and returning items such as shopping trolleys and parking cones,
which have been thrown in the canal, to their original owners. We have planted hundreds of bulbs this
year so keep an eye out for the display of daffodils and crocuses, which should make for a very colourful
display this spring and summer.
