Galway Civic Trust relies for most of its running costs on membership and donations. We are extremely grateful for the generous support we have received from both individuals and the business community since our formation in 1992.

We would like to especially thank our current members:

Since its establishment the Trust has received continuous financial assistance from FÁS. Without their generous support Galway Civic Trust would not have been able to undertake the many exciting projects that we have completed to date.

FÁS

FASFÁS is the National Training and Employment Authority in Ireland and is the Galway Civic Trusts single biggest sponsor. Through its Community Employment scheme we have been able to employ a crew of eight workers to undertake our conservation and heritage projects, as well as two employees to help with the administration of the Civic Trust office. Under the careful supervision of our experienced foreman Michael Davis, the FÁS trainees have acquired excellent skills, with many having gone on to secure full-time employment.

Galway City Council

Galway City Council Since the Trust's formation we have been extremely lucky to receive the support and encouragement of the Galway City Council Heritage Office. In addition to an annual grant, we have also been assisted on many of our projects by officials from the City Council. We would like to thank, in particular, the Heritage Officer Mr. Jim Higgins, for his contribution to the work undertaken by the Trust, most recently the restoration of the Mutton Island Lighthouse, and Mr. Stephen Walsh, Senior Executive Parks Superintendant.
